Damn, sorry to hear that che. Maybe it's time to move out of Jacksonville? I'd figure that the job prospects would be limited over there.

What if I get stabbed in the other one or there's an accident, and my only remaining kidney get's pierced. Then I'm on a waiting list for a new kidney, cuz I can't have my old one back. No thanks. I'm keeping both of them right where they are.

Selling himself would only allow a, uhm... focused sort of clientele. Selling others, well there's that management problem again.

I hear drug dealing can be lucrative.

(Then again unemployment is legal and you've already paid in to the system.)

I think that's a bad idea. That should be only a last resort.

Okay, the real last resort would be selling a kidney.

I was going to suggest that!

Here in China, there's an enormous demand for teachers during summer vacation, when many parents send their kids off to private training centers (like the one I work for).

Come on over for a few months! As a bonus, you can witness the death of communism with your own eyes!

                    The future

Pure web designing jobs will be rare. That job will be increasingly outsourced to independent contractors and overseas workers. Demonstrating good management skills will be a must. Program management will probably not be outsourced and will be the key to making outsourcing work.

Management skills can be learned, but the process can be long and have many twists and turns. As for time management, the key is quickly figuring out what is important and what is not important. Then you must make sure the staff under you command have the same priorities.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.â€

                    • I say forget the whole management thing unless you actually want it.

I wouldn't go for management skills just because someone suggested it.

                      • Management is the next move forward in my career. I don't want to be a mid-level professional my whole life. We get expensive and replaceable by young college students.

Apparently, the only qualification is that you can speak English as a first language. And even that's not a hard requirement if you have a white face (e.g. Europeans who speak pretty good English can get English-teaching jobs).

It's a bonus if you have basic communication skills. If you have actual teaching experience, you can write your own ticket.

An ESL certificate is not necessary, although some jobs require it.

Going forward we'll need to get Chegitz up to speed on all the latest action items so he can stay in the loop and hit the ground running.
