It wasn't us, although the CGers responsible come here often enough.
Apparently Apocalypse isn't appreciative yet.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

The same thing would happen here, as with almost any forum that has people who actually care."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

It wasn't CG it was Sidgames.
And my appreciation has varied.
It definitely was handled the wrong way."Yay Apoc!!!!!!!" - bipolarbear

1) Poster makes suicide thread
2) Poster cannot be contacted
3) Make contact with poster's relatives (parents in this case)
What is the correct sequence...? Should we have called 911 first, perhaps?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

The CounterGlow thing was another instance. SidGames did it once (with Apoc), and CG also did it once now.

Curious . . . . . how does anyone get contact information to family members of another poster??
If you don't, it's a bit more difficult. You can use their IP, and date&time, and notify their ISP, who will (hopefully) cooperate."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

2. It was more of a "hey, what's a quick way to kill myself if I don't have to the balls to do it the freaky eloborate way I've planned now" than a real suicide thread.
3. My parents were the reason and the immediate thing that happened when they found out was me getting yelled at for hours about how bad it'd make them look if I killed myself. And guess what, if I hadn't been pretty tired I would have carried it out later that night after they were called. And guess what, if my mind hadn't got ****ed up when I was asleep, I probably would have done it the next day.
4. A much more effective solution would have been telling me why I shouldn't kill myself in terms of what I have to live for as opposed to what I accomplished in the past and could no longer do."Yay Apoc!!!!!!!" - bipolarbear

So you postponed your suicide because you were sleepy?

That would go along with it, yes, but in the meantime having someone who is in your RL to talk to you is 99/100 much better than some guy telling you the same over a computer screen.
