...also on the M1. It's probably the second-easiest place to get to in the UK, next to Birmingham. It's as easy as Milton Keynes as the two places share the same railway line and motorway.

From most places it's pretty easy.

Personally, I think it would be easiest overall to have it in London, if the people from the North will come. If not, then I'd suggest holding it somewhere slightly further North than London, so they can. How would people be travelling too. By car, London is awful. By rail, London is a lot easier.

If anyone wants to have a look at the rail network to see, it's here: http://www.project-design.co.uk/imag...RailNetMap.pdf

I can make London, Northampton, Birmingham or pretty much anywhere between the 3. Anywhere South of London is pretty much impossible for me though

It seems in this case that Northampton is the best option.

          Do we concur?

I can do London on Saturday by car quite alright thanks. As for a weekday, it would be a definite no...

As I said, it depends where other can get to. If everyones in Bristol anyway, then coming over hear is pretty much impossible, and London seems like the best option. If PA, Rogan and the others who live further North can't make London, N'ton or Birmingham looks good.

Will I have a better idea. Why don't we invite people to Northampton for a night out in the Goose or something and people can accept or decline?

Northampton is no closer to the "north" than London - by the time you've changed trains at Rugby or Milton Keynes and waited, you're in London anyway - very few of the Manchester-London trains stop at Rugby either. For anyone on the east coast (Yorkshire, Edinburgh) the quickest way to Northampton is to go into London, and come back out!

The only people Northampton would be quicker for are those living in Northampton, and possibly Birmingham at a push (though it's marginal).

Well there's the highest concentration of Apolytoners in Northampton per head of population in the world to my knowledge (3 to about 250'000).

The way I see it, you people are going to travel anyway, to London or Northampton either way, so the best thing to do is save us the effort!!

EiF: Its also very easy to get to by road.

Yes, but most people don't drive to 'Poly meets.

There's no way I can make Northampton. It's a four-hour journey once you include transfers. London is two hours away on GNER.

Nope, that would be Worsley in Manchester, 3 to far less than that.

Wonderful logic guys. Anyone who lives in a hamlet of 15 people could claim the highest concentration.
