The basic difference in the two ideologies is the level of decision making power that workers would have, the way I see it. I don't think there are any Leninists here at Poly, but those who classify themselves as communists must believe in some authority over workers, or it seems to me that they would call themselves anarcists. For myself, I'm almost an anarchist, but I'm not as absolute about freedom, as anarchists seem to be. I don't believe in the basic goodness of people. They need someone to kick them in the ass sometimes.

I don't believe in the basic goodness of people.
Why not?, most people are basically good by nature(not flawless, just good), it's the few the spoill it for the many.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

I don't agree with you. You don't know the true evil nature of humanity until you've driven in rush hour in Chicago.Originally posted by alva

Actually I don't really like to categorize people as good or bad. People are motivated to work in small groups and under other certain conditions. The anarchist standpoint seems to be that they will contribute equally just because they are free. And that's where I disagree. However I don't have any problem with workers being able to make decisions, but I disagree with what those decisions should be.Originally posted by alva

All philosophies have various stupidities.
For example:
-Anarchism: Chaos and disorder on the streets followed by complete societal collapse
-Communism: Creates state-worship a lot of the time.
-Capitalism: Leaves much of the working, lower, and unemployed classes screwedmeet the new boss, same as the old boss
