As much as I disagree with Kenobi over his religionista stances, I've yet to see any quantifiable proof he's an active willing racist.

I also agree with his statement regarding Conrad, from the point of view of someone who was a student of literature, and a devotee of history.

Next you'll be saying that Charles Dickens was anti the poor because of the many and various poverty stricken characters in his novels and short stories.

Racist? It was a joke. If we really turn it around and around, maybe we can say it maybe was a little racist. But hey, it was a joke and a good one, and not too offending IMO. Well, that is for the victim to decide if it was too offending or not. I have never offended if I was stereotyped as hung male. As for cannibals, well it's a fact that there are cannibals, and just because we tend to think them as black people in jungles and stuff doesn't make it that racist IMO. Stupid *******s like this need to take a philosophy class. The intent of an utterance is decided by the utterer, otherwise no one could ever intend to mean anything to another person. How would I ever be able to say anything to anyone else if the meaning of what I say is determined by another person? What if I listen to myself on a tape recorder?

If somebody is offended by a remark, regardless of its intent, it shows that there is some sort of breakdown in the communication process. That's all. Whether the breakdown is due to deliberate insolence or the listener jumping at the chance to win valuable Oppressed By The Man points, now, that varies with the individual cases.

Here I'm inclined to say it was the latter. The situation itself is a stereotype, but it is used only as a premise. The actual humor of the joke revolves around the irony of the guy not thinking to ask how he would be killed. Man, I sound like the crude-joke supreme court. I've been on this site too long.

Oh, and I concur with the other four people that Curtsibling's out of order, if by some miraculous chance he's actually inclined to care what I think.
