I heard that you can use this program to de-integrate IE from Windows. Don't quote me on it, though.

True, though you can download the patches by hand.

I mostly use Mozilla Firebird, but bring up IE for certain pages.

        Is it better than Opera?

I like it better than Opera. Seems faster to me.

You have to download some add-ons for mouse gestures and some stuff doesn't work that great, but it seems like the fastest brower out there and you have a lot of people working on it (ah that open source)

Sounds good, I'll give it a try.

Browser wars have become a reality again since IE's relative quality compared to the competition tanked. I'm not on Mozilla to make a point. I'm on Mozilla because my surfing is much more comfortable this way

You mean "everybody who uses Windows and doesn't know any better."

                    Even Asher uses Firebird.

i heard a great quote the other day from a successful software vendor:

Among all the people I went to convince in using Mozilla (i.e. people merely comfortable with computers, and not geeks by any stretch of the imagination), only ONE preferred IE. That's because he had an old machine, and Moz was too slow for him.

If so many people still use IE instead of Mozilla or Opera, it's not because of user-friendliness or lack thereof from the competition. It's simply because the competition isn't well known by the general public.

Yeah, this accusation comes from a person who engages in leekspeak.

I've heard about them, but what I've been told they just hide and mess around with directories and shortcuts to make it look like it's gone. *shrugs*

I've got a couple questions: How do I convert Opera bookmarks to Mozilla Firebird, and can I get Opera-like search bars ("find in page" in particular would be nice) in this browser?

If the Opera bookmark file is just a plain HTML file, you can import it into Firebird.

As for searches, there's already a "find" function under "edit."
