    I'm not.

When I was (twice) it was for moral reasons (1st time) and health reasons (2nd time).

Right now I'm on the Atkins diet. Down 17 pounds since 11/1/03.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I made the switch for ethical / political reasons, but I wouldn't have it any other way now that I've made the change, regardless of my beliefs.

Since turning my back on all modern civilisation I've discovered that vegetables are easier to hunt.

I flirt with vegetarianism. Meat is actually a bit boring and I'm trying to make it a smaller part of my diet so that it accompanies some meals instead of dominating them.

I, however, am failing miserably at this task.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals, I'm a vegetarian because I hate vegetables.

BTW, Sava, about your new sig:
"The free-market fundamentalists and 'movement conservatives' are as blinded by ideology as the old Communists." -- Molly Ivins

I resent that. These people are far more binded in ideology as old communists.
