            • Regarding possible life forms: What happened to those petrified micro structures of organic life in Martian meteorites they found in the mid 1990's? Was the evidence inconclusive after all, there doesn't seem to be much talk of them these days.

I suspect the orbital is looking over a much larger area, so spikes caused by local concentrations of one thing or another would be smoothed out.

With the mini, you focusing on a much smaller area, so local concentrations really stand out.

They were too small to be microfossils, actual bacteria-like organisms would be at least 100 times as big.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
