  • Your favorite threads of all time...

I was looking through the archives and saw some of my old favorites...

Saint Marcus looking for love (and maybe spelling) advice in connecting with girls on an intellectuel level

Asher and I teaming up vs UR and Drake in regards to MS decision to pay dividends in MS gives dividends for the first time ($870M), stock split, Xbox surprise performer

... and we decided to laugh at AOL-Time Warner in the AOL posts largest annual loss in US history ($100B), Ted Turner resigns

Me and KrazyHorse get into it in MarkG's A liberal and a conservative were sitting in a bar. Then Bill Gates walked in. I skewed the argument to make my point, but KH just totally made his up. Well, I guess we're both liars.

Y'all remember these idiots? Westerns as human shields in Iraq

And how could we forget Kidicious' original Is profit different from unfair tax?, a thread so popular it gave birth to Jr: Is profit different from unfair tax? Part 2.

So, what are some of the gems of yesteryear that y'all remember with particular (and maybe peculiar) fondness?

I liked the Excellent Adventures... I don't think many of them survive in the archives .

Naw, a misjudgement on our part. If we had properly communicated what we were doing, it might have ended differently.

I liked Ming & rah's Excellent Adventure the most (prolly cuz I helped the plot along...)

PROT declares war on UHA (I have yet to make my triumphant return! )

              Newsmax invas intervention

Does anyone want to Roleplay? stupidly biazzare in the extreme

But my fav was from Dec 1998, when a forum wide flame war was escalating. Then Orcus stepped in, said something funny along with "I love you guys!!" and everyone was cool again...

Naw, this way was better. More cloak-and-dagger stuff to make the posters even more paranoid...

Well, seeing as how I participated in every one (except one, I think), I couldn't just pick one! The series was the important thing! From the original, which I started, YYYH and Imran's Excellent Adventure, where we time traveled and battled Lord Stone (and which is lost to all time), to the World Cup Excellent Adventure. Great stuff all of them!

Yes, those excellent adventure threads were good. They inspired me to do the Ferrets "On The Road" threads. Probably not as good as the originals, but they had a good following.

Yea, I like the World Cup Excellent Adventures the best, because I helped the plot along in that too. Also because its the only one I read.

I asked this in another thread Imran, when's the next Excellent Adventures thread? I think we are due. I'd love to see one based in Iraq.
