I don't think there were any great albums this year, but there were some pretty good ones.

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Amon Amarth - Against the World
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
      A Perfect Circle - 13th Step
"Luck's last match struck in the pouring down wind." - Chris Cornell, "Mindriot"

I thought the new Marilyn Manson CD wasn't on par with his prior work.

man... one of the few groups that urban rap fans (at least in philly) can just about all agree is trash. I rarely hear their songs on the local radio, though they are all over mtv.

In each song, Jaheim, with a strong baritone sounding like a cross between Vandross and Pendergrass, takes the persona of a weed-smoking, gun-toting thug who shows he is a Diamond in a Rough as he sings a tribute to the children, declaring them Fabulous and though he refers to the target of his affection and his *****, he dedicates a Special Day for his proposal and declares he will cherish her for as Long as I Live. Jaheim weaves his ghetto love stories, complete with an appearance from Mary J. Blige, over hip hop beats that seem somewhat at odds with his powerful voice though in keeping with the theme.

                          I'd say it's a toss-up between

                          The Offspring - Splinter
                          and
                          Less Than Jake - Anthem

It always amazes me that so many people think Linkin Park has any talent. They only have written different versions of one song over and over as far as I can tell, and that song isn't even good.
