So the nitwits that even think of saying there was dancin in the streets in Iran after 9/11 are truly ignorant troglodytes. Unfortunitelly there is no way to root out the halfwits from the voter rolls that would not be abused, so they remain to dull our body politic.
Gepap, I have the video of the Palestinians dancing and passing out candy if you want to see it.

Yea, we tested it on Kucinich himself when he was a kid, for hours and hours.

Well their thoughts are obviously with (or perhaps about) the victims and their families, but not in the spirit that the president mentions.

Come on man, these people are too poor for insurance. I assume that most of their housing is self-made and not made by companies or govt. So the government is the only force that can do something. It should pour the money from oil into that, instead of reactors and ****.
Yes, they live in a backward theocracy, NOT A FREE MARKET SYSTEM! That's the point... You used their situation to indict the free market when they don't have a free market, I was merely pointing out what would happen in a free market...

duh I was pretending I was one of them...

don't tell me you are a freeper...
You were being sarcastic, I suggest you afford them the same luxury...

Those blinders are on so tight that they seem to have cut off the blood supply to your brain.

As has been already said though, it wasn't the Iranians who were acting like such ass monkeys.

            • the Long Valley Caldera can safely be assumed to be inactive if not extinct.
They've been measuring the slope or bulge of a highway running across the caldera and it's been increasing...

              • Now they are saying 25k dead possibly as many as 40k. I don't doubt that a significant number of people died, but how can they possibly give this kind of number as fact. I mean, there is no mention of this 25k number as an estimate. They could not possibly have enough time to verify the deaths of that many people. I think it is possible that Iran could be inflating these numbers to gain excessive financial support from other nations, particularly U.S. who is contributing aid through other countries.

I read just minutes ago on a german news site that they already buried ca. 28000 dead. Of course in such things is always the possibility that the media jump on the highest numbers flying around, and that the final numbers are quite different.

                  • I also read that there were numerous instances of people being carried to mass graves on stretchers as corpses when someone noticed a slight movement under the burial shroud leading to the realization that the person was still alive. Sounds like total chaos there.

                    • Terrible.

And amazing to me what a difference building codes/construction materials can make. The comparison between this disaster and the recent California quake is stunning.

                      I'm glad we're helping.

                      • First of all, my prairs go with the victims of this disaster.
And let's hope the display of solidarity averts future mishap. And if i were Isreal, i would send humanitarian aid. I think this gesture would accomplish more than all the shells fired in the entire middle east conflict.

                        • AFAIK they offered help, but Iran didn´t take it.

                          • My impression was that the Iranian government refused any such help even before Israel offered any (we welcome aid from anyone but the Zionist regime, yadda yadda, or somesuch).
