  • I didn't say it was EXACTLY the same.

However, in an ecological catastrophy, it would be the non-prokaryotes that died out quickly, not the bacteria.

You seem to be consdiering this some sort of speciest argument. I wasn't claiming mammals to be more diverse then bacteria, or anything like that. I was saying life, as a whole, is now more diverse and much more sturdy.

        • The French revolution is not an outrage in any way, and honestly I don;t buy the mindset that maes it an outrage- if it is, then the American revolution must get large blame , as the ideas that lead to it and its success was an important factor for the French revolution (I never knew Drake was part of the "blame America" crowd).

The French Revolution, while inspired by the American Revolution, was extremely different in the ideals that it's leaders fought for. The French corrupted the ideals of the American Revolution to the point where blaming America for what was unleashed would be ridiculous.

I tend to omit wars where there was savagery on both sides unless there was something very unusual about the killings, such as we saw with the Holocaust.

How did 2 tin-pot dicators make the list over religious massacres in the 1600s or pogroms against the Jews in the 1600-1700s in Eastern Europe? Hell, Pinochet was worse.

Pinochet is responsible for just as many missing/deaths. They only know 70 political prisioners (for whom he's being prosecuting for), but there are thousands of communist/socialist/leftists that have probably been massacred.

I don't really like the guy, as he is a right-wing nationalist, but if you're going to bash him, do it for REAL REASONS...

I'm gonna have to call shenanigans on this one; break out the links, baby, cause I don't believe this for a second. Hussein probably killed more in a year than Pinochet killed in his whole career.

I think his ethnic cleansing is a real reason. And don't give me the bull**** that he didn't do anything. What, so he had no idea his subordinantes were doing it the whole time (plenty of Serb generals have been convicted of genocide). Yeah... right.
