  • I admit I have never seen Peter Pan

I feel good coming clean about that.

Anyways it opens Christmas Day in U.S, England, and New Zealan (wonder why they left out Australia?)

What's it about. And what exactly is tinker bell.

Even when I was a little kid, Peter Pan seemed gay . Not that it's a bad thing. But being as I'm not gay myself, I cannot identify with gay-like characters.

So what's Peter Pan all about. Is it real or fantasy?

    It's real.

    Tinkerbell is a sailor.

The Disney version is a lot more cuddly than the original Barrie story, which is a bit like "Lord of the Flies" on acid.

        You ain't missing much, Dissident.

The Disney version is something of an embarrassment now. Their portrayal of Indians is truly cringe-worthy, even to the most staunch anti-PCer.

"Hook" was sufficiently satirical to be interesting but most versions of the story are so sugar coated as to be indigestible to anyone who is either over the age of three or not terminally deluded about human nature.

So the Apolyton Commies would have no trouble with it

Eh, neither have I. Hell, I was in my teens before I saw my first Disney animation movie.

I can see what you're doing there. Clever.

(Shall I admit to an X-post, or make John paranoid?)

Diss, do you not watch movies with female protagonists?

I saw them all as a kid. First run, too.

                            Hurrah for Peter Pan!

To my knowledge, the only "Peter Pan" to be televised was in the mid '50's, with Mary Martin as Peter Pan.
This doesn't count "Hook" where a grown Pan was portrayed by Robin Williams.

Gotta go for 'Hook' where Tinkerbell is Julia Roberts
