  • Return of the King

OK, I'm getting stoked for this. I'm sure I'll see it over the weekend. How about you?

And here's Queen Margrethe II of Denmark taking in the movie. I must say that as a confirmed Republican, all this royalty stuff is starting to wear on my nerves.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I'll be watching it in 51 hours (Wednesday, 3pm showing).

grog want tank...Grog Want Tank... GROG WANT TANK!

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

For a second there I thought we had a thread about Saddam weaseling his way back into power again.

Aren't the strongest US supporters all monarchies?

                      UK - Monarchy
                      Spain - Monarchy
                      Netherlands - Monarchy
                      Denmark - Monarchy
Italy - erm... party pooper, as always

                      On the other hand:

                      France - Republic
                      Germany - Republic
Russia - umm... that's a hard one... Bureaucracy?

I'm curious about why people in Scandinavia and Finland like these movies so much. On average, they've gone to see these movies more than your typical American!
