EU has made it easier to go to Denmark and Germany to buy lots of cheap alcohol. With the admission of the baltic states, this will go even further. So no, Sweden will not leave

I think that was the cover art for the Beatles last, unreleased album.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

The picture comes from a movement in the 19th century called the Scandinavism. The idea was to unify the Scandinavian countries, mainly to be able to make a big army that could keep the pesky Germans away

It failed. We conquered Denmark in 1864 and freed Schleswig and Holstein (op ewig ungedeelt) from Danish tyranny.

That's because the Scandinavism failed first

Then freed Hannover, Hessen and several other German principalities north of the Main from Austrian tyranny.

Hey, what is FYROM you greekolliticaly correct bastard?

Anyway I am pleasantly surprised by the results of this poll. It would seem that voters are much more open than the average EU citizen.

Some time ago I've read a EU wide opinion poll about the same topic - "Which country would you like to see join the union?"

The average for ex communist south and east european countries was quite low, and I remember Croatia and Bulgaria scoring somewhere around 30% of support.

Yep, it's a propaganda poster from the war between Denmark and Prussia in 1864. IIRC Denmark lost alot of land, but was given back most of it after WW1.

Azazel, I don't think they're supposed to be anyone special.

I believe Norway has stayed out of the EU because joining would mean they would become a net giver of tax money instead of a net reciever of tax money. Those blond haired oil barons figure they can get 90% of the benifits while paying 10% of the costs.

The largest vote is for Norway?? Hrmph...

well, i guess I would say that it wouldn't surprise me if Russia eventually joined, though I seriously doubt the inclusion of Israel, or the former Soviet States south of Russia
