    OPEC Wants Aid

    An excerpt
Delegates said that Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter, wanted promises of aid if Kyoto spurs a shift to renewable energies like tidal, solar or wind energy at the expense of fossil fuels.

Am I the only one who finds this funny?

They should've started shifting their economies earlier.

Btw, I don't believe there will be a shift to renewables.

And, there still is a market for oil in the plastics and chemical industries.

              Teehee, funny. Really.

Hopefully they'll laugh just as much when we give them a big ol' middle finger.

I think Saudi Arabia is missing the point: without the oil, we don't care.

Sure they can have aid - AFTER they have spent the billions they have made selling oil over the last 50 years. When they are as "poor" as countries like Ethiopia and Mozambique they can have aid.

The should look at Brunei, they've spent the last ten years using the money to diversify and educate, not buy fancy fighters and palaces.
