A specially prepared Lynx clocked 249mph. AFAIK it was used to prove the development of swept tip rotor blades.
I have a recollection of reading about a Lockheed special back in the 60's which had two jet engines bolted to it and set a record but whether that actually qualified as a helicopter I'm not sure.
Other than that the Soviet Union usually tried for such records. I'm sure Serb will be along sometime soon to claim the SU had the world's fastest helicopter.
