  • Movies with a 'strange' cast

Have you ever seen a movie with a cast that makes you wonder?

I just fell upon the movie Around the World in Eighty Days (2004), and checked the cast list:

    Jackie Chan
    Arnold Schwarzenegger
    John Cleese
    Owen Wilson
    Rob Schneider
    Sammo Hung Kam-Bo

... and there's probably a few I don't know by name, but have seen before...

I've never actually heard the story Around the World in 80 days, but with a cast like this, it sounds like a comedy movie with some action (???)
This space is empty... or is it?

This sounds guaranteed to be a goofy movie. Jackie Chan alone can make it too goofy.
    Haven't been here for ages....

With Steve Coogan as Phileas Fogg it'll either be a work of comic genius, or a waste of a good book

I doubt Schwarzeneger will be in it, unless they already finished filming. He said that he won't do any movies now that he is governor.
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

Hang on a minute, actors are by definition strange - "I'm so wonderful I should get paid for acting".

A movie that doesn't have a strange cast is, by definition, a documentary.

I wonder; if they're strange can they also be charming?

Maybe he's role is only a minor one, like where he's only on the scene for about 2 minutes or so...

Steve Coogan is hilarious. The cast seems good. I suspect it will be a funny movie.

why see a cheesy remake when the original had David Niven in it.

Steve Coogan, John Cleese, Arnold Schwarzenegger...it sounds worth watching for the interaction between the actors...a very odd combination...
