  • Old woman trashed me today

    Oh yeah.

I was waiting in line to get to the ATM to get some money for the grocery store.. I was waiting there in line and when it was my time, this old woman comes in and charges to the machine. Didn't wait a single second in the line. Just busted in like it was her right. Naturally I got pissed off. She wasn't old like she couldn't stand few minutes, she was in good health IMO. If she would have asked me, I'd prolly let her go first. But no, she HAD to be aggressive about it. And I hate when people try to be aggressive against me..

.. so I said 'we had a line here...' and she turns 180 facing me like someone just gave her the biggest insult in the world. 'When I was your age, men had manners!' and started using the machine. I didn't answer for a while, I was kind of ashamed, she was oldie you know.. but then I though f it, she's asking for it... 'Well when you were my age, there were no ATM machines so you could just skip the lines.. and besides, the only one here with no manners and being selfish is YOU'.

YEAH! Take that Oldie! I think I won.
    In da butt.

But for the folks out there thinking I have no respect for old people, I do. But I don't think it justifies everything. Her demand of getting to use the machine fast is understandable by all means, but being aggressive about it like that is not excusable in my eyes.

          Thanks .

When I got my money after her and turned around to get back to the store, half of them looked me like I was punk, half of them clearly thought I was a hero. No matter, I'll say it next time too! I'm a SUPERCITIZEN!

Yeah... she was in the wrong and just being rude. I tend to just ignore these people. Nothing you can say would really matter to them... so i don't waste the energy. As long as you got some satisfaction out of it, it was probably worth it.

What the **** did she think that you should have manners when she just didn't show any to you? There's no point going easy on total *******s like that, give 'em hell! They will probably never change but why make their behavior easy for them?

                    [rant]

I always wondered where those old folks get the idea they are entitled to more than us normal ppl. from.

As if these retirees would have so much trouble finding time to wait in a line. Oh yeah less time to walk around in the park or something I guess.

Or how the always complain they dont get enough money for doing nothing.
Some old lady in my house gets 3times the money I get (me working full-time), getting essentially paid by me (close to 20% of your money you have to pay for retirees, and health-care which is also mostly used up by old-folks), yet still has the nerve to tell me how much trouble she has with her little money....

                    [/rant]
If its no fun why do it? Dance like noone is watching...

I agree she was being rude, but what does her being "old" have to do with anything?? (By "old" I gather she was 60+ from the way young people tend to use that word).

There's a witch hunt going on for "old" people these days, and I don't like it. Bloody age fascists.

She probably was a member of government - at least at one time. My wife was just telling me about how things are (or at least were) in Brazil. Members of the government are always escorted (or barge in) to the head of any line!

I only hope the US never becomes this way. Such conduct is just one example how power corrupts. Compare Augustus Caesar who was lived in a modest private home and was just another citizen of Rome with Diocletian who lived in palaces and had people crawl into an audience with him.

Yeah, One cannot help but notice the drift. Once Grant (or was it Lincoln) would mosey on over to the Willard to spend some time in its lobby. People would come up to him and talk, usually about things they wanted. The practice became known as "lobbying."

Today, due to all the assassinations and attempts, one can't get any where near a president. He travels with a large, armed entourage larger even than those of a Roman Emperor. Yeah, we are more like Diocletian than Augustus.
