  • Who could have prevented 9/11?

The notion of 9/11 being preventable seems popular in some circles. I think we should share the ideal replacement.

Bill Clinton could have stopped it. Sadly, Slick Willy was more interested in catching Monica than catching Bin Laden!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

Clinton was offered Bin Laden by the Yemenese government, but turned them down. If Clinton had accepted the Yemenese offer and had managed to capture Bin Laden, then 9-11 might have been avoided.

So, Clinton definitely had a possibility of stopping 9-11.

Furthermore, Clinton now claims that he gave all this vital info to Bush when he took office that supposely predicted 9-11. Either Clinton is lying about having the info so as to save his legacy, or he is telling the truth in which case he should have used the info himself to stop 9-11 instead of passing the buck.

Anyone could have had as much a chance of preventing this as anyone else...-0- %

                          I mean

It was done to strike out at the Economically, Militarily and sufficiently more Intelligent community known as America.

I feel sorry that we were attacked but for real, no one man has the absolute power in America.

If say you chose President Ventura, he still has to get approval/spending or otherwise in order to do certain things.

Colonel Oliver North told the Congress about Osama Bin Laden years ago and no one paid him a rabid bit of attention!

So we are left with Monday Morning (albeit REAL LATE Monday Morning Quarterbacking)

It was a cowardly attack and now we are trying to rid the world of the "heads" of the problem.

Only problem is that the "body" or thought process is still there and now we have to fight Martyrs..Saddam,Osama and whomever else rise up to lead a cause!

That be my personal input and as anyone elses here, bears absolutely ZILCH in the actual carryinmg out of our Govt plans!

                          Peace

yes I know about the Sudan thing.

But here's what I think would have happened. He would have no case to prosecute him. He would be aquitted most likely. Or politcal pressure from the lefties would force him to release Bin Ladin. Or if he didn't do all those things, he would release Bin Ladin at the end of his presidency. And finally, even if Bin Ladin was held, someone else would have planned and carried out the attack with Bin Ladin's financial assets.
