  • Who is #1 Now? College Football

Kansas St Wildcats demolished Oklahoma 35-7 !!! YEAH WILDCATS!!!

    But now what?

Oklahoma, USC and LSU all have legitimate claims to not only spots in the championship game at the Sugar Bowl, but the #1 ranking in the country. Oklahoma, the #1 team (and undefeated) in the nation before Saturday's Big 12 championship against Kansas St., could actually lose it's #1 ranking AND a spot in the Sugar Bowl. LSU's only loss was to Florida and USC's only loss came in triple overtime against California.

So who is #1 and who deserves to be in the Sugar Bowl?

Another year... and another screwed up college championship. The BCS has to go. It just doesn't work.

Oh yeah, these teams haven't beaten anybody, have no players with talent, and are a disgrace to college football.

Baylor by far is the team that deserves to be the national champion.

              /sarcasm.

I still think Oklahoma is the best team, IF they show up and play to their potentional. However, they didn't win their conference so even though their my alma mater I don't think they necessary have a right to go to the national championship.

LSU and USC are probably the most deserving contenters.

USC will probably be the number one team in both polls... And It's also possible that they won't even get invited to the championship game.

Another example of why the BCS sucks.

Well, no argument from me on that front. They have a month off the least they can do is devote 1 week to some playoff system, hell, even if all they did was take the top 4 teams. Would come in handy in years like this, but who would be the 4th team? Michigan, Texas, Ohio St or...no...can't be... KANSAS ST?

Hmm, just saw a scroll on ESPN

                  1) USC
                  2) LSU
                  3) Oklahoma

MAN! That has to hurt those Sooners...

That's what they get for being TOTALLY BLOWN out in the Big 12 Championship game. They looked awful. If you lose a game like that early in the season... it's ok. But you don't do it on the last weekend.

True, but the BCS was designed in part to remove such biases as to timing of losses.

Meanwhile on the weather front, this is the second sunday in December I could be out golfing. Not nearly as nice as last sunday, a bit chilly and windy, but I could be out there if I wanted with my new used driver - 7 degree loft Bazooka with extra stiff shaft! Can't wait to use that baby!

The real championship game will be USC v. Michigan. I don't recognize the BCS. The AP poll should be the one that we go by, as it has always been...
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
