  • I'm having chest pains

Surely I'm too young to have a heart attack. And I don't have that tingly feeling in my left arm that is common among men who have heart attacks (women don't seem to get that sympton like men do for some reason).

I might actually have to go to a doctor. I haven't been to one in 4 years since I got out of the military. I'm not one of these wannabe macho types that pretends they aren't hurt. I just never get sick or injured. I haven't had a cold in a decade. *dissident knocks on wood*. If I wasn't forced to go to the doctor for checkups in the military, I would have never gone to one.

They alway say it is indigestion or something. What is indigestion? I have never had it. Same with heartburn- I rarely have that as well.

Go to the Doctor...period. It would be horrible to be dead wrong about not going. Any age can have a heart attack. If it just indigestion or heartburn then all you have wasted is a few bucks. If it is a heart attack and you don't go then you may have wasted a life.

You're never too young to have a heart attack or any other ailment; it's just a matter of the causal factors and their likelyhood. Don't make the mistake of assuming anything with regards to medical conditions. If your pain is mild, it's probably nothing to be concerned with, but a visit to the doctor's office can't hurt and would only affect your wallet.

I will go though. Only because I should get a checkup to make sure my cholesteral and blood sugar levels are normal.

            Doctor now.

Take an aspirin or two as well. That'll help to thin the blood, so if there are arterial problems your circulation will improve. Its probably nothing but you cant be too careful!

            Good luck

You could have pulled muscles near your ribs. Because they are always used, they can take longer to heal. If you're generally fit, I don't see the need in wasting doctor's time over this.

Its important to go to the doctor and not just assume everything is okay because of young age or fitness.

Every year a major athlete or two dies from some heart related problems. Some of the death's are very avoidable and the heart issue manageable - if the Doctor gets a chance.

If you go for a regular checkup and say you had some pain, I'm sure the Doc will take a closer look and put your mind at ease.

eehh, I'm not an anti-capitalist. I'm very pro-capitalist. I may have some left-leanings, but I believe in capitalism with all my heart and soul. And I support the free-market as well.

It's weird though. the pains aren't bad, and I don't have them in the morning. I feel fine now. It's only after a few hours of working that I get them. Maybe it is a pulled muscle. We'll see how I feel with a nice lazy day watching football and posting at Poly- and later playing civ3 conquests.

I'll probably make an appointment tomorrow to make sure I'm ship shape as usual.

The amount of time you spend posting here you must be a class A couch potato. Odds are you're half dead already. You need to see a cardiologist ASAP and have him roto-rooter your coronaries clean. After that you need to go on a diet of Lipitor and water as well as exercise 25 hours/day. If you do that we may be able to prolong your life by a few months.

Just kidding. I gotta CMA you know.

Torn muscle sounds very probable to me... I've got recurring chest pains (usually whenever I've had a particularly bad cough), but they're there because I tore a musicle when I had Whooping Cough for six weeks when I was 17. It took forever to heal, especially as I kept coughing, and now whenever I cough a lot it starts hurting again.

See a doctor to be certain, but by the sounds of it it is probably just a bit of reflux, ie, a bit of burning in your oesophagus. See how is settles.
