And once more. He can be a selective reader when he sets his mind to it.

It struck me as the weirdest part of the Tiger's message board.
An Ulster fan was asking if, what with their new friendship, some of the Leics. boys wanted to wear a split shirt to the Eng/Ire game.

It's okay. I grasped the, um, nettle in the Irish Nettle Soup.

Thank you, I was always told it was best to leave nettling to the professional nettlers.

          • I have a wonderful recipe for Nettle Risotto. I just can't find the right nettles for it. Chefs - well, one that I know of - seem to get them, I can't.

            • Glad to know you two have compared them.
Compared Super Party packs? Well certainly we have.

Mmmm. Hark, I hear the sounds of the Drinking Boys Ticket being put together to contest the next election.
Whilst I might not make a ‘better’ Commercial Director than the incumbent I would certainly be more popular.

Example one – the crappy keg beer inside the ground, supplied by a major sponsor of the club, is more expensive than the same beer in a tenanted public house a hundred yards down the road. There is no way the club can be paying the same price per barrel as the landlord there – and yet they charge more. They think fans are stupid you see – but it’s easily solved as we stay in the pub for an extra pint instead of having one in the ground.

Ah – I’ve gone off on one again haven’t I?

Oh, and btw, ask him if he thinks that the split Ulster/Tigers shirt is a good idea for me will you?
You know I nearly missed this.

Not really to be honest. By the time we crash out at the pool stage and Ulster get whupped in the quarters the Tigers-Ulster good feeling will be history and all you’ll have is a very weird looking shirt. The Red, White and Green side will look fine but that iffy red and white won’t wear well (as Finbar often says).

WORLD CHAMPIONS. There – that should make the Ulster fans feel right out of place on Tigers messageboard now?

To be fair I’m not that active on the board the last few days – that nonce ‘Ulster Fan’ and his constant trolling got on my nerves too much. Assuming of course that it wasn’t yourself?

Well, indeed. How naive of them. How silly of them.

Not frequenting this message board, I missed the whole point of the combined shirt exercise. But it didn't stop me contributing. I often do my best work in complete and utter ignorance.

Yes, but entirely irrelevant on the Tigers message board. Of course, if you'd written LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, it might have been relevant. If a bit of a lesson in ancient history.

Though it has a qualifier – after the whistle as gone they have a captive market for the duration. Because we are a rugby venue, not a soccer battlefield, we can serve alcohol throughout the game and take it onto the stands (plastic containers only – the law isn’t that stupid!). Even with the high price I sometimes weaken.

                      • What really bothers me is the fact that it's been raining so much around here that mayors don't want their rugby fields to be turned into trenches by the studs of three tens of rubymen. Which means, in other terms, that the match I should have been playing tonight has been cancelled on grounds the ground was soaked. A pity.

(I'm sure Havak will be glad to see a post not mentioning Leicester loss to Ulster, for a change).

                        • It's a pity about your game, a friend of mine who used to play hooker told me that he enjoyed the mud...

                          H-Cup result:

                          Ospreys 11 - Stade Toulousain 29

The score was 6 - 29 at the end of the first half.

The first half was largely dominated by the Toulousains who scored four tries, three from Vincent Clerc and one from Benoît Baby who previously made two decisive passes to Vincent Clerc. The four tries give Toulouse the bonus point the team was looking for.

The second half was another story, the Ospreys came back very motivated and scored a deserved try from their young and talented fly-half. The Toulousains defended well and could have scored another try close to the end of the game. This game proved once again that the kicks are the main flaw of the Stade Toulousain, the players really need to improve themselves in this important matter.

It should be noted that the Ospreys' efforts in the second half were largely supported by a very lenient referee, at least as far as the Welsh were concerned. Mister white is... well,... Mister White.

Haven't you been able to come up with a sort of IV Drip arrangement by now?

Or, in Dermott's case, often squatting like a girl dog. With the end result that his big hairy front paws end up saturated!
