    but I LOOOOOOVE you...

    What'd I do?

On a side note, I really really really wanted to like Master and Commander...but I just couldn't. The action was great, the setting was good, and Russell Crowe was good. The problem is, he couldn't carry a script that was sub-par. It was just too "RRR...ME MAN" for me.

I can't wait until Last Samurai. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, but it looks really good.

book of mormon volume one oh yeah that was a great movie.
yeah right pitty me I live in Utah.

        Anyways

T3 was by far the most dissapointing

Reloaded was ok but really it was just there to link the first and 3rd movie together

Best movie of the year so far: Millenium Actress

I doubt anything will unseat that movie, considering I love it so much. I wrote a review, but I doubt you guys want to read it.

Worst movie of the year: Sinbad, Legend of the Seven Seas.

I doubt you guys want to read the review for that either.

          Most dissapointing: Down With Love
Great cast, great trailer, great art direction and idea, terrible script and execution. The most akward movie of the year.

          Most surprisingly good: Anger Management
Marisa Tomei and Adam Sandler's romance rung true for me, and I thought the humor worked. I viewed the ending, which many hated, as so over the top in its use of the sappy hollywood ending as extending over into conscious self-parody. Highly and surprisingly enjoyable movie.

              Best so far?

American Splendor, Lost in Translation, and I forget the whole name, a documentary on the Friedman family.

The Cukoo was good too, but not in the same league as those three.

"a documentary on the Friedman family"

                Capturing the Friedmans

I haven't seen it, but I doubt it's a better documentary than spellbound.

I really want to see CTFs... it does look good. Spellbound was an amazing documentary, however. It was like an Errol Morris film, only on a subject that he wouldn't have chosen due to its lightness...

                    Really, really awesome filmmaking.

                      Best:

                      Seabiscuit
                      Mystic River
                      Lost in Translation

                      Not seen

                      Kill Bill
                      X men II
                      RoTK
                      The Last Samarai

The three films I listed are the only ones I saw this year (that I can remember) that I totally thoroughly enjoyed. Seabiscuit is one of the best films I have ever seen. A true joy. Mystic river is a great film, but a bit depressing. Lost is translation is a beautiful love story. Bill Murray is simply great - his best performance ever.

I rate Kill Bill vol 1 as both the best and the worst movie of 2003.

That's how I feel about. Some things I found incredibly cool, and some things I found incredibly stupid.

Also it's like the only movie I seen this year

oh I did see 28 days later- but technically that is a 2002 film.

oh I also saw T3- I liked it, but it could have been better- like having Cameron direct it

And someone actually saw gigli? I want proof you actually saw that movie and aren't jumping on the gigli bashing bandwagon

Well, we don't get really interesting stuff like "Lost in translation" here in Turkey, and we're way behind on films in general (Seabiscuit, Kill Bill and Intolerable Cruelty have yet to open here); so this is not an incredibly well-informed list. But:

                              Best of 2003
                              1. Finding Nemo
                              2. Master and Commander
                              3. Mystic River
                              4. Pirates of the Carribean
                              5. Love Actually (I'm with cinch; it was really funny)

(looking back at #1-4, it seems like it was a pretty good year for water)

                              Worst of 2003
(This list brought to you by a man who must stop letting his 13-year-old daughter pick which movies they see together)

                              1. T3
                              2. Daredevil
                              3. The Hulk
                              4. Matrix Revolutions

(edited because I had completely repressed the memory of T3, but then another poster forced it to the surface)
