Those people who don't have the choise (the sellers don't have region-free players). But luckily you can download programs, which can make all machines region-free.
But I'm not sure about this with some older players.I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.Comment

because of pressure from the mpaa here in the states, it's very difficult to find a region-free dvd player. in addition, dvd drives here are set to region 1; virtually all dvds sold are encoded for region 1. thus, dvd region locks are a non-issue for the huge mass of the general public, most of whom have no idea what a region lock is in the first place.
the region lock really only affects those american consumers, like me, who wish to see movies from foreign countries which are not distributed here in the us, without the expense of having to add a plane ticket, hotel stay, and hassles of a visa in addition to the movie ticket.B♭3Comment
