    perhaps

the British don't seem to hate him as much as they seem to hate Bush, that's for sure.

That guy looks nothing like Tony Blair. I can only imagine what sort of cringe-making plot will give let them meet, and also include JK Rowling and Ian McKellen.

Having said that, hopefully they won't have time to include a cack sub-plot, like the time Homer raised a lobster.

So, the brits all hate him .. hang on, maybe they just don't hate him as much as bush .. ha ha ha ha ..

Im sick of threads where we endlessly discuss if Blair and Bush are popular in the UK .. I say they are, you say their not. . you find a poll, I find another .. etc etc etc ..

I'll say this, Blair and Bush have my total support, and although I do know some that dislike Blair (mainly tories, not socialists), and I do know some who hate Bush (mainly socialists) .. I just don't see this great resentment .. maybe im just getting old

As for the Simpson's .. I agree .. this is scraping the barrel a bit ..

the previews have homer saying he has been arrested in 6 continents.

I can't remember all the episodes, but was he arrested in each of them?

But it is true that he has been on 6 continents now.

Let's see... Springfield (and other cities such as New York), Australia, Japan, Africa, Brazil, and finally London.

So we all know what is coming next season. Antartica.

it started off good. The last 5 minutes are on right now.

the problem is in order to fit in such an outlandish plot (Tony Blair, and Queen of England), the story has to make no sense and be very contrived.

The simpsons used to be a show that was more than just gags and jokes. There used to be a story to go along with it.

It started off good, but then got too silly.

After Blair took off on a jet-pack with mocked 007 music, Homer said, "Omg! I can't believe we just met Mr. Bean!!"

Homer wasn't this stupid the first season.

the first season, Homer was more of an authoritarian. It was only after the first couple of seasons they developed Homer into more of a complete moron. Remember Bart was essentually the star of the show the first couple of seasons. Homer was there to be a strict, but dumb father. But Homer is the star of the show now without a doubt.

Yeah, the dumb Homer came into play when the show changed from being focused on Bart to Homer. They had to develop him more, and they went with him being an idiot.

The middle seasons had a huge amount of character development- if anything, the age of Stupid Homer was destroying the Homer than they had (stupid yes, but still a caring family man) to create a mockery to base the whole show aorund, and thus ignore Bart, Lisa, marge and everyon else for that matter.

The first seaons were mostly about Bart, then it became about the whole family and the town (episods like Lisa becoming a vegetarian or the bordello episode), and then it went downhill when it became all about MOronic Homer.

I dunno, some of the moronic Homer episodes are hysterical. Last night's, however, isn't one of them.

Also, they broke with the series continuity. Simpson women are supposed to be smart.
