          • Nice pictures... though I guess this thread has been thread-jacked a long time ago... I was simply just asking if you people liked where you lived or not

Though since the pictures is nice anyway, just keep 'em coming
This space is empty... or is it?

                • Ashdod.

200,000 people, city founded in 1956 by a core of families from North Africa. Steadily growed to ~80,000 people in ~1990 and then thanks to a huge influx of immigrants from the Soviet Union doubled it's size and population. Named after the biblical Ashdod that was somewhere nearby.
There was an Arab village named Isdud in the area, but they all left(or got left) in 1947-1948.

I actually live in Tel Aviv now and come to Ashdod only on the weekends, but I dont know Tel Aviv good enough to post pics.

                  Some pics :

My neighborhood. The building I live in is the bottom left corner.

Also the area around my home(it's the new city center).

The main road that goes South-North through the city.

                  More :

                  The port :

A more older area of the city, the upper parts of my high school can be seen on the bottom of the pic :

A look on the new city center from above. As you can see, there's a ****load of space left.

                  The marina:

You can see about two thirds of the city here :

The new city hall and arts center :

                          • That place looks sunny, Eli. It also looks like it has a nice beach. And finally, it looks like one of the cities i made in Sim City 3000, all nice and well planned.

I think it's the first city in Israel that was *really* planned ahead from the very beginning.
