  • Lucky to be free...

    article

Is it just me or does that sound rather ominous? Don't get me wrong, we shouldnt stop the war on the basis of popular opinion, but Bliar should not be dismissing the views of so many tens of thousands of people quite so lightly. This isn't a democratic issue. This is a logical issue. Veiled threats don't help either, and certainly won't help his re-election. Still, this has been a difficult week for him

"These protesters are lucky to be free".

Freedom is being highlighted, and covertly called into question.

        It's also true, of course.

Had he stayed silent on the subject, would you have posted about him arrogantly ignoring legitimate protest? Beware the "devil's horns" syndrome.

He's not noted for his eloquence, but I fail to see why that turns him into Fu Manchu.

Will natural selection take care of this thread or will it take a culling of the herd.

I was hoping it would turn into something Orwellian, but I guess my expectations of you people are far too high

Actually what he said was that they were lucky to live in a free country. It either means he's planning on having them all killed or exiled to Libya. I'm not sure if he's decided yet.

I can see why those of a more paranoid persuasion could see this as a subtle threat. Something along the lines of the muslims coming to take away our freedom? So therefore we have to get them first. I dont see it myself.

I when I saw the dumb and dumber comment. It might be a valid way to attack the man, but its always done in such a childish manner.

I thought PM's didn't get reelected. Don't you only have elections when a new party gains control?
