  • One Reason to Vote 4 Kerry

When both parties were trying to sweep the BCCI scandal under the rug, John Kerry was trying to expose the scandal. He took heat from his own party but he didn't let that sway him...

He probably won't get Henry's vote, though.

Henry? I'm exposing my ignorance here so be kind. My sis (very left wing) and Mom (very right wing) are enamored with Kerry for being (at least then) a stand up guy.

Wait, let me guess, Kissinger? Nah, can't be...

Yep, Dr. K himself. In the draft report Kerry circulated to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on BCCI, there was a whole section on the relationship between BCCI and Kissinger Associates.

Ol' Henry pulled some strings and got a major portion of that stuff massaged out of the final report that was published by the GPO.

Ah, I believe an investigative journalist, Danny something, who ended up dead in his hotel room from "suicide" was writing a book on BCCI and I think he referred to the scandal as "the Octopus" because of all the tentacles leading from or to BCCI.
As I recall, Mosad and the CIA just to name a couple were using BCCI to filter (is laundering a term used only when it's illegal?) money. Funny, that whole episode seems to have disappeared from the radar screen...

Kerry is a spineless politician. I would never vote for him.

He voted for war, against funding. What an ass.

There's a reason to vote against him then.

                  I'm with Q... BCCI?

Oh, and even before this, I'd voted for Kerry anyway... well, only if he can win the nomination, of course .

Bank of Credit and Commerce International, the Pakistani bank that was the equal opportunity launderer for everyone from the CIA and Mossad to fundy terrorists, drug lords and just about everyone else.

BCCI bought politicians, internationalized like crazy to dance around regulators, and was the biggest combined fraud and corruption bubble bank in history.

                    Entertaining stuff.

Kerry seems like the smartest candidate to me, but he also seems like a self-centered deceitful bastard.

I still believe McLain is your man. too bad he would have to challenge GWB in the pre-elections again, which would drop his chance to zero.
