  • WHAT?!?! NY Millionnaire Durst acquitted!

Even if he did kill the person in self-defense, it does not justify dismembering them! How could the jury acquit this guy?
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

He has had not (yet) been charged with descerating a corpse or tammering with evidence, which may be done sone. He is still charge with flight to avoid prosecution, and is not going anywhere, while they prosecute that and looked at other charges not bared by jeopardy in the murder case. The murder case apparently turned on the flood of evidence that the dead man was a habitualy aggressor in fights., including with Durst.

I think he admitted to dismembering the corpse. I think he should get some kind of punishment for that!

I wonder how much the jury cost?

He hasn't been charged or stood trial for abusing a corpse, therfore he cannot be punished for it. Hold your horses, it'll get done.

Is dismembering a corpse illegal in the US then?

Depends on who and why and varies from state to state.

The defense must have come up with a hell of a story to explain away hiding the body and running from the cops to avoid punishment.
