he wasn't too bad, from what i remember as a little kid, and reading about him, he wasn't in the worse half of leadership.
however, the current conservative drive to name everything after him and call him the best president ever for winning the cold war is silly, because imho, he was just lucky and in the right place for the inevitable defeat of the ussr's system.B♭3Comment

Reagan rejected or cut 22 spending programs his first 2 years in office..... Dubya hasn't seen a spending bill he didn't like.... but what do you expect from the child of an oil family who never even knew the phrase "that costs too much"?

Yup. Though I'd have to say Herbert Hoover is right down there. Reagan nearly bankrupted the country. His deregulation schemes are still haunting us today. S&L alone will cost us about one trillion dollars when all is said and done. Then there's Iran-Contra and the subversion of the Constitution.
