They said the wounded were wounded

I find the news never confirms how wounded the wounded are.

I shudder to think how many people lost limbs- and genitals during and after this war.

it would suck being over there right now, the soldiers aren't being killed in combat, they're being murdered.

Murdered? They are soldiers who invaded a foreign country. They face resistance? How surprising...

I think what he means is the U.S. soldiers have no opportunity to fight back.

            They are sitting ducks essentually.

            Reuters confirms 13 deaths.

              They were going on R&R.

I didn't know Chinooks were still being used. How old was the chopper? (Not that that was a factor.)

Aftonbladet.se says the Helicopter was hit from 500 meters by an unknown weapon. Must be some kind of AA missile to be accurate at that range.

Very bad start to november. Things have to calm down a lot for this not to be the worst month after the war for the US military.

One small mercy - helos can usually get to the ground. The Chinnook is a tough aircraft.

Its going to be hard for us to keep our mission open there if this keeps up.

Helicopters are deathtraps. Don't rely too heavily on them.

Oh, and I bet the weapon used was an RPG. It always is.

Well, that's modern warfare for you. The Iraqis certainly didn't get much of a chance to fight back during the initial invasion, either.
