Will this movie challenge Moulin Rouge as the musical chickflick my friends and I watch while eating chocolate and *****ing about men? I must find out. To the Blockbuster!

neither chicago, nor moulin rouge, should be called "chickflick"

Just deal with the fact you like chickflicks. Music, dancing, love and comedy? What, did I like miss the Rambo moment in Moulin Rouge where he uses big guns and big muscles to kill Evil Commie Scum and thus save Satine from Evil Communist TB? pu-lease.

just because a movie doesn't have blood and guts and gore doesn't mean it's a chickflick.

hey, i DO admit, i do like some chickflicks. some are just nausiatingly sappy and WAY too predictable, but there are some good ones out there. (a good example of a decent chickflick would be "you've got mail")

however, chicago and moulin rouge are definately not

Chicago was good, except the parts where it was musical.

Love? If you meant love of money, then you'd have 'Chicago' . It is definetly NOT a chickflick (not that there is anything wrong with some chickflicks), because there is no romantic angle at all.

Sorry -- I guess I thought you had good taste in musical movies.

Down with musicals! Burn them all! Nothing worse than a stupid movie where people break out singing and dancing.

                              (except Newsies, that movie rocked)

                                lighting? WTF!

                                lighting doesn't make a movie.
