Also, why does this pole not even reference the next president, Hilary Clinton?

          Because she won't be .

I'm neither or both. Depends on how broadly you define the terms.

The poll wasn't all that comprehensive and left out a lot of stuff mostly inside the bipartisan consensus (i.e. free immigration), so third parties aren't as highly represented as they should be. Libertarian and Socialist should definitely be higher IMO.

www.politicalcompass.org now has all of the democratic candidates plotted on the graph. You should check it out. I was surprised by many of them. You can take the test while you're at it. Econ 2.52, Libertarian - 6.72

Well that's an interesting 1+2 LoA . Hell, at least I had Dean and Kerry at the top of my list (interesting for me ).

On the compass (which changes little by little every time I take it but puts me in the same general area):

                    Economic Left/Right: 4.12
                    Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.36

John Kerry is the closest to me on that list (Dem or Rep alike).. though I think the thing is even more flawed than the Selectsmart poll .

                            I got:
                            Economic Left/Right: -0.88
                            Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.05
on the political compass, halfway between the Greens and Liberal Democrats in the UK (even though Charles Kennedy, Lib Dem leader, gets almost exactly the same as I do) and a soft-core Libertarian centrist Though no US candidate, and no-one on the international chart has the same kind of position as me.
