  • The best mafia movie?

Well, I won't make this a poll, I'd leave out too much.

Anyway, Goodfellas is just starting from TV, and that's one awesome movie. I just love it.

How about it, what's your take.

Naturally Godfathers, but if they don't count, then Goodfellas for sure. Casino was ok and Donnie Brasco was good too.. I'm actually looking more of these movies, so if you know any, feel free to help me out.

So MY suggestion is Goodfellas (because I like surprise element and discard Godfather for a while).

    Yours?

I really liked Goodfellas, a misnomer if there ever was. It pretty well portrayed the pychotic murdering backstabbing thugs the mafia are. Honor my ass.

      I haven't seen Donny Braso.

che, ok. You should look it up.. Johnny Depp is in it, playing a cop infiltrating the mafia.. and is based on true story too! It's pretty good.

My favourite part in Goodfellas among many is when Jimmy Convay (De Niro) first decides he'll just kill that other guy who had a wig and was busting his nuts about some money. He's in a bar, and then a great track starts plaing and he has this interesting look in his face, he's not smiling, but almost.. hard to tell what expression that is but you know just then what's going to happen.. he smokes his cigarrette adn... it's beautiful.

But naturally the movie is full of legendary scenes.

Oh yeah, Donnie Brasco, just saw it. How come I never knew how good Johnny Depp was? Goodfellas and Donnie Brasco, I have to agree.

Carlito's Way. Excellent Al Pacino movie, had a great ending imho.

Neither Scarface nor Carlito's Way are mafia movies.

How about Reservoir Dogs, Once Upon A Time In America, the Untouchables, Leo, Scarface (the original), Billy Bathgate, Miller's Crossing, Bonnie & Clyde, Carlito's Way, Snatch, Road to Perdition, Bugsy & after turning into a homocidal maniac you can watch Analyze This, Mafia, The Freshman to lighten things up a little.

Leo is not mafia movie . It has mafia in it, but it's not mafia movie? Leo is not part of the mafia?
Reservoir Dogs is not mafia movie? Once Upon A Time In America.. how could I forget? Excellent movie

Snatch is certainly not mafia movie? Organized crime is not enough . Road to Perdition I guess would count..

Hey, that Mafia movie, the comedy is excellent . I usually don't fall for these 'crazy comedies' anymore, but this one had me cry of laughter.

Not all crime movies are mafia movies. Mafia is a specific genre refering to the Sicilian crime families, generally in America.
