Conservatives are not behind the bombings -- I'm saying that if liberals were to initiate discussions ABOUT these horrible events, who do you think would be the first to troll us

MrFun, why would conservatives troll this thread if it was started by a liberal?

The day I see SlowwHand as a liberal, is the day that the moon crashes into Earth, and the Sun burns out.

Anyway, I'm done blowing off steam.

The attacks on Wolfowitz hotel was a guerilla act withotu a doubt. The attacks on the police are in the grey zone, and can be considered guerilla or terrorist. The attack on the red crescent was undoubtedly an act of terror, whose aim was not to weaken the enmy's military but to spread fear

All terrorist acts -- no matter the motivation -- are horrible, Spiffor.

Spiffor, exactly. And how do guerillas work, if they don't have certain regions minds of the locals and their support, but they need it? By fear. Two ways.. love or fear. Their only goal is to set the minds of the locals for them to want the Americans to leave. When they have overwhelming support, let's say 95% wants them to leave, believe me they will leave. So, they need to get that support and when they don't get it with natural support, that's what you do. I'm NOT saying this strike was legit strike, or that I think it was ok strike. I'm just saying I think, that killing innocent civies doesn't make you a terrorist automatically. It makes you a killer and a SOB and a massmurdered. But it's very close to being terrorism I think.. Well let's say, the strike on police definitely no terrorism, strike on red cross.. very close. Maybe I'm willing to go as far as say that is terrorism.

Actually I changed my mind. Since if they DON'T have the support needed meaning the whole country, not just that region, then installing fear by methods like that.. that could be terrorism for sure.. but if they had support and that region was just against the bigger majority, I don't think it would be terrorism, it would be a war crime.

Sorry for making confusing posts, I just didn't think this through first.. about the support thing.. since guerillas are supposed to work for the people, not against the people, and because I believe the support is not big enough for guerillas, this can't be categorized as normal guerilla strike, but terrorism.

                  Yep.

I guess the message is to not work with the infidels. The first day of Ramadan, etc.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

(sigh) all those bastards have to do is make iraq look so unpalatable to the general american public.

we actually have to rebuild the nation and make it a place worth living in, and it's hard enough without them bombing away.

it's at times like these that one wonders why humans should even be allowed to grace this planet.

Q Cubed, true.. and you know they are going to bomb when rebuilding happens every now and then.. keep it on the edge.. make people tired and frustrated.. not taking too heavy losses.. move on small but skilled and experienced groups.. get intel from locals by love or fear and make them lie to Americans, get them trapped everynow and then into ambush with the help of local knowledge.. never let anyone rest.. guerillas are bad asses if they are skilled, and impossible to destroy even with modern technology etc. But, every day is a new fight, let's just hope the guerillas won't get too many victories.

As far as my being conservative or liberal, I say it at least once a week.
I'm a damned moderate; the only thing that makes sense.
I really don't mind if some can't see Iraq as necessary.
                          Hey, you have a right.
I have a tremendous problem with someone, conservative OR liberal, not seeing that acts like this are disgusting.
I will say, it makes it harder for me to understand how anyone can have knowledge of acts like this, and still call our military actions erroneous.

                          And excellent point, Dan.
I remember when the USA and coalition troops told the Mideast that nothing would come from our side on their religious holiday.

I consider this a terrorist attack because it is aimed at spreading fear amoung the population. This time they were not attack the US millitary, this time they attacked the Red Cross and Baghdad police.

Even if you think this is not terrorist attack, this is sick. They are now attacking internation aid workers, people who are just there to help the people of Iraq and were not apart of the war effort. I think such attacks will anger most Iraqies.
