Actually, I'd expect most of that to come from hardcore "Puritan" literalist Protestants, rather....

Obviously the OP was written by somebody with no idea of what Catholicism is all about. Wouldn't be the first time in this board some ignorant opened his mouth, won't be the last.

I don't think Catholic Rock would be successful. How many songs can one write about guilt and communion wafers?

          P.S. I'm Catholic

yea, protestantism is all about hellfire and eternal damnation and such.

i've *never* heard a catholic priest have a sermon about hell and repenting sins or burning in fire or anything. Not once.

Though i stopped by a Baptist church once and it was the topic there. Made me uncomfortable.

Are you sure there aren't any? Last time I looked none of the Chrisitan Rock groups wore labels with the name of their denomination on them. There could be Catholics groups, but since the belief structure is close enough to that of Protesants you might not notice a difference in the lyrics. Who knows, there might even be "gasp" mixed groups.

Say, would "The Singing Nun" count?

The only religion that should be allowed into music is Satanism, but only as long as it stays in its own little ghetto and doesn't bother us mundanes.

I didn't say there wasn't any silly Satanism in music.

I read that as The Sinning Nun. Which I think would make a catchy name for a christian band.

By christian I mean protestant/catholic/orthodox whatever. Different people have different perceptions of words. In the US "Christian" means of a protestant denomination (?) as I have found out.

Only radical Protties, in my experience, use the term "Christians" to refer to Protestants. More than once I've heard the phrase "Catholics and Christians" used to the detriment of Catholics. The only group that I've heard use that phrase has been Southern Baptists.
