  • Is weed a performance enhancing drug?

yeah I know, its pretty funny.

    What do you think?
    :-p

Absolutely not. There's been a substantial amount of research that points to fairly significant cognitive effects while under the influence.

Besides, nobody wants to "perform" anything when they're stoned except run down to the store for Doritos and Mountain Dew.

I guess it depends on what you're trying to perform.

            It's a recreational...substance. Not a drug.

Basketball players seem to use it a lot, so it may actually enhance basketball skills.

There is nothing like quenching ones thirst w/ multiple 2 liters of Mountain Dew.......

I like to cycle long distance (like 9-10 hour bike rides). Sometimes I like to smoke a spliff or three on route. I can still keep my avg times so I know Im not slowing down at all.

The odd thing is the burn in my legs is reduced by quite a degree. As long as I continue to cycle I dont feel the 'stoned' tiredness at all, but instead feel very energized.

Im guess it could be considered perfomance enhancing because it numbs the burn.

Some people use it as a pain reduction medicine, perhaps that is an enhancement.
I know I enter the couch potato races everytime I smoke up

I've known many people that have claimed that it helps settle their nerves so they don't choke when bowling, golfing, darts, etc. (claimed is the opperative word)

I wonder though, if applied to sports what would happen to the sports injury rate. You know, sometimes those little pains really mean something.

Some people that come here are losers.
Is that the fault of ACS? Doubtful.
