So, Die Hard II: Die Harder isn't a sequel to Die Hard?

Neither is Die Hard with a Vengeance?

The Background story of Dogma, if you bothered to hear it, was the exact same as it was for Clerks, Mallrats, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

    So J $ S B, is a sequel.

    or

Die Hard II isn't a sequel, which is which?

The through line of Die Hard II is exactly the same as Die Hard I. J&SB is not the same through line as Dogma. Therefore, it is not a sequel.

The only way J&SB would be a sequel is if they fought Satan or were employed another way by God.

I'm still waiting for the much talked about )back in the mid 1980's) Krull 2. I loved the first one but then again I was like seven when I saw it.

What the hell is a thought line?

Dogma is actually the worst of the Kevin Smith movies to me, simply because he had all of this going on inside the frame work of the larger story of the other movies.

If it had been completely outside the larger stories it would have been fine.

Beside how would you make a sequel to it?

A "through line" is the motivation/action of the movie; ie, the Devine nature of Dogma, which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

If I were to make a sequel, it would probably involve the Last Zion being born and Satan sending demons to kill it...hilarity ensues...

Personally, J&SB was the worst...it was just a movie of **** and fart jokes...if I wanted to see that, i would have seen American Pie

Sequels that never came: The most obvious set-up for a sequel I've ever seen is the ending of Rounders, where the fate of each character is left unresolved as our main character heads to Vegas for the World Series of Poker. You just know there was supposed to be a Rounders 2, where the characters meet in Vegas and Matt Damon and Ed Norton both play in the poker championship, ultimately having to face each other in the finals. But it never got made.

Sequels that shouldn't have been made: Well, I agree about Godfather 3; the first two films work well togetehr, and are two of the greatest films ever made. The third just besmirches their memory. But to go from the sublime to the ridiculous: how the hell did there end up being four -- FOUR -- sequels to Smokey and the Bandit? Even if the final one has my favorite sequel title ever -- Smokey and the Bandit 5: Smokey Is the Bandit -- there's just really no excuse for that.

Last Seduction II- absolutely awful. The first was an excellent neo film noir, with an incandescent performance by Linda Fiorentino. The second was appalling straight to video merde-o-rama.

They don't have to blackmail him, Travolta's a true believer. The Scientologists stood by him for a decade when the rest of the world thought he was a washed-up punchline.

How come my two all time favorite movies gets the worst sequels the world has ever seen?

Bloodsport 2+ changed the basic rules of Bloodsport, they changed basicly all original characters, and the story sucks... How can anyone even think about making a fictive sequel to a movie based on a real story?

Timecop 2 also changed the basic rules... this time about time traveling. In the first one they said: "Same matter cannot occupy the same place in the same time", and we saw how it ended... but this time that's no longer true. And in the first one, those who was time traveling was the only people to remember the past, but in this one, everybody at T.E.C. remembers what happened before time was changed
And lots of other changes that could fill more than their manuscript...

And also Universal Solders 2+ were awful movies... Same character, but with other cast, that's just begging for trouble
At least they made a real sequel to this one (Universal Soldiers - The Return)

Sequels that should have been made:

The Mask - Shortly after the first one was in theatres, they were talking about making a sequel, but for some reason they cancelled it

Timecop 2 - With the original cast that is... then it can't fail... at least not that much...
This space is empty... or is it?
