    Just Curious.

    Due to Lancer saying "Just drive on over to Las Vegas", it occurs to me that maybe some of you know Texas is big, but not just how big.

    West-East, from Texarkana to El Paso is about 812 miles.
    North-South, From Amarillo (and there's other little towns north of Amarillo, so add 60 miles or so) to Brownsville is about 877 miles.
    268,601 square miles.
    And that means what, exactly ?

    France - 211,154
    Japan - 145,844
    Germany - 137,767
    Italy - 116,275
    United Kingdom - 94,501

    For another thing, that's why horse thieves were hung.

    Why someone would choose to live in such a huge useless state is beyond me.

                  The only reason to know how big it is is so you're better able to avoid it.

                  Q: Where's the best place in Texas to be?
