I just saw bumfights 2, I guess some of you have heard about it. It has caused lots of controversiality, the first part and now this new one.

So what do you think of these kind of videos?

Now, I don't find these funny at all. It's not shocking either. It just makes me sad. I don't know which one is more sad, the condition of the homeless people, or the abuse of the homeless people the makers of this video does to them. Or maybe that these videos are actually popular. Or that someone finds these actually entertaining?

They say they film them, but they also help them out. I think they give them crap money, so the sign the papers so they can show it on their film. Maybe they give them some booze or a crappy shirt I don't know, but these folks do lots of stuff to get these..

So I don't know, why would someone be as sadistic as to have fun with their cost? And not just telling jokes, but physically abusing etc? Aren't there any laws against this? I mean, it is pretty obvious that the homeless people etc are being used, and even if they sign the papers, can't it be stated, that these people are not able to think for themselves and thus the contracts or whatever they make or not binding, and therefore what happens and what they have to do is abusing, and the makers will go to jail for this?

And then they try to shock you by showing some schoolyard etc fights? I mean, if you have never seen a fight, then sure, but for the most part it was just two sissies slapping each others faces. Few tougher rumbles, but nothing 'good'.

So, what do you think about these videos, and what do you think should be done to the makers, because they are making lots of money from this. Do you think it's ok, or do you think they should be punished for taking advantage of people who can't think for themselves and are being used because of their situation?

I'd say it's ok, if they'd pay them good money. So they'd actually help them. But since they pay them crap money, I say it's definitely not ok.

I haven't seen them, but it sounds like "social pornography" to me. but if the bums get decent paid it should be ok

I dont think the money would cover medical bills if someone were to be injured.

Also, I wouldnt blame someone for paying crap money to film bunch of homeless people fihgt. If there were enough demand for these vids for entertainment, than there wil lbe more demand for ppl to provide videos. Then eventually homeless guys will have negotiating powers. (He can say "no, the other guy pays me more for the same thing". etc)

Ive seen some "fight" vids on net too, and theyre pretty stupid... like you said, its bunch of sissies slapping each other. Real fight isnt often exciting and long enough to be entertaining to watch.

The problem with this is IMO, that these people are making money, benefiting from others misery. They make them do stupid things, so they can film it, sell it and get all the money for themselves. I don't think that's funny no matter what happens in that video.

Also filming crimes, so that the ones doing crimes like stealing, braking into cars etc are doing it clearly FOR the film.. I think that's a bit suspicious. Also they harrash homeless people with various methods, they play 'bumhunter' in which a guy dressed like a nature show man catches homeless people in their sleep in the middle of the night, ducktapes them, makes fun of them, forces them to lie down sitting on top of them and the victim does not know what's going on. So that's pretty scary to the victims I bet.. they don't know what's happening, who knows maybe they think they'll get even killed, since this is no ordinary joke. Guys with masks come and put them on handcuffs.. stuff like that.

So, I only wonder how is it possible these guys are not in jail yet. They deserve it however, and I'm sure there are tons of outraged people who will seek that they will go to court. No one in their right minds can say they didn't abuse these people, with signed papers or not, they are clearly not able to make judgements these people so it doesn't matter IMO if they sign or not.

I could give the guys credit and think they are good persons IF they honestly made these to portray the situation of poor people, violence, crime etc AND then give the profit TO these people or to their benefit. Then I'd understand their methods. But since they keep the money and clearly enjoys the whole thing.... it would be justice that they'd be homeless soon, and the ones they filmed would be living in their houses.

Yeah, that's a real BS view. Watch the video and see for yourself. Don't buy it though, don't want to make these guys budget for defense lawyers any bigger than it is.

Also, what they base their defensives are that they are filming what's happening in the streets. That's for sure, but it's so obvious that most of these situations happens BECAUSE they set them up in the first place, so they can film it! IF you watch the video, you will understand what I mean. So they are not filming what's happening from a distance oh no.. they set them up, film, make money, end of story. But if you watch it, download it from the internet or something, no need to pay these people nothing. I wonder if they ever will think they did something wrong actually, because they seem to enjoy it.

When you said "Bumfights" I imagined something else entirely.... though I couldn't say that I could quite envision it. I thought perhaps it was sometyhing like Sumo wrestlers facing each other backwards and..... well, you get the idea.
