Contrary to the predictions of most legal experts, the preliminary hearing did go forward today. Here's some of the key evidence presented regarding the victim's testimony and other evidence that has been presented by the prosecution so far.

She stood up to leave and Bryant gave her a hug that led to some consensual kissing, Winters said.

When she turned around to go, Bryant grabbed her by the neck from behind, pulled up her skirt and raped her against a chair, Winters said. She told investigators she told Bryant "no" at least twice, before bursting into tears as the five-minute attack went on.

During and after the rape, he said, Bryant kept asking, "You're are not going to tell anyone, right?" She said she agreed at one point.

"She didn't want him to commit more physical harm to her," Winters said.

The woman said that Bryant forced her to kiss his penis after the attack, Winters testified. He said a nurse who examined the woman later at a hospital found injuries consistent with a sexual assault.

The prosecution presented photographs showing injuries to the victim, including one of a bruise on her jaw.

This certainly is looking bad for Kobe Bryant. What are people's reactions to this news?

The sooner this case is over, the better. Rape is terrible, but I'm sick of hearing about Kobe Bryant. What a waste of time.

It looks like an entirely new damming piece of evidence was mentioned at preliminary hearing.

Winters testified that the woman's blood was found on the inside of Bryant's T-shirt, based on DNA tests. The woman told him she had bleeding from the alleged attack, he said.

This is going to be really hard to explain how it would be consistant with concensual sex. If Kobe didn't even bother to take off his shirt, that would seem extremely odd for consensual sex for the first time between two individuals. You'd also think that Kobe would want to avoid a situation where he has to explain bloodstains to his wife, particularly if there is no sign of a scab on himself. It also suggests she bled alot, which does strike me as unusual given that it does seem to be pretty much aknowledged that she wasn't a virgin at the time of the rape.

I've heard reports that there are photos showing bruises around her face, neck, and cuts consistent with rape in her pelvic area. If he's guilty, he should be castrated and then he should rot in prison. But this is America, we drool over celebrities, so it probably won't happen.

I've got an update on the situation with the blood on the shirt.

and a laboratory analysis by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation discovered streaks of her blood on the inside front of his shirt and on her panties, Winter said.

Streaks suggest that it was a significant amount of blood. I also don't see any way streaks could occur if Kobe wasn't wearing his shirt at the time of the actual sexual act.

I'm thinking that given the nature of the rape, it was hiked up a bit and that portion was turned inside out. Frankly, I admit it seems odd, but I don't see a better explanation for it. I certainly have alot of trouble seeing any other way the blood gets on the inside of the shirt.

A lot of the Simpson talking heads were also law professors or former DA lawyers.

First of all, you need trial lawyers with actual experience in court.
