  • Is this hosting Legit?

    Has anybody else seen this website?

    They claim to offer:
    Website/Connectivity:

    * Hosted on I/O optimized own 1&1 Linux version
    * 500 MB web space
    * 5,000 MB/month traffic ($0.99 per GB for additional traffic)
    * No limits on simultaneous hits/bandwidth
    * Protected by firewall
    * Continuous backups of your website
    * 99.9% Uptime guarantee
    For $0.00/month for 3 years...

    Google tells me that 1&1 is big... any UK'ers have more information?

    My friend just signed up and has a site hosted on there now. Seems like everything is legit to him, and he's pretty experienced with computers.

      Good lord! I'm gonna have to check this out.
      Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

        It seems too good to be true
        Has anyone used/worked with 1&1?

          They've got to be kidding. This is to good to be true.
          Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
          And notifying the next of kin
          Once again...

            Hm, If they dont charge anything I wonder where they get their money from? Waiting till their costumers get big enough to break 5gigs traffic / months and life of that? I know 5gigs isnt really that much for a commercial website... but I still wonder
            If its no fun why do it? Dance like noone is watching...

              Good! Cheap pornography!
              I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

                    There is a computerworld article saying that they're the largest hosting service in Europe.

                            Yes really. I distinctly remember it costing more than nothing, though.
                            If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.
