Actually Matt there is a serious reason why being married is good. This comes from what happened with my old housemate who was in a similar situation.... anyway if you aren't married then legally you aren't considered to automatically be the baby's guardian if anything should happen to the mother (let's hope not anyway). Which shouldn't really be a problem but if you fell out with her parents it might be.
Still, you need to make sure she has something legal stating that you are the father and if anything happens to her it's you she wants to be the baby's legal guardian. A will would do it. You might want to find out more about that from a proper legal source to make sure I have it correct as well.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
