I think she shouldn't be tried for murder. She should be tried for grevous bodily harm. I don't think she intended to kill him, and he shoulkd have seeked help. However she did intend to harm him grevously, and did. The self-defense should be up to judge/jury to decide IMHO.

Female genitalia are just as sensitive to pain (or any other stimuli )as male.
