Bah, we should have gone to Woodstock last night and posted from there while drinking beer, would have been at least somewhat better...

Well at least we found Black and Tan on tap. I'm still in awe of that.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

You know not the horrors of korean saengmaekju (draft beer), weighs heavy on the soul they do.

And those are the minutes of the Third Seoul Polymeet such as they are...

Is their beer really that bad? The beer here is excellent and I didn't think there would be that big a difference between the two countries.

Well to give you some idea, Sapporo costs as much as 12,000 won (over $10) for a bottle in bars here. Korean beer all tastes like flat Coors, except for Hite Stout which tastes like flat Coors with black food coloring...

                      Ouch.

$10 a bottle for Sapporo? Good god. Sapporo isn't even in the top three of mass-produced beers here. Sorry man.

Are you surrounded by young Korean couples on "dates"? The kind of date where the boy and girl silently sit next to each other for hours as they play Starcraft?

Ah young romance, Asian- style! (same thing here in Shanghai )

Well there was a "couples" section of the PC bang there with two-person couches with 2 PCs in front. That scares me deeply. Not as much as the strange Korean love for eating fruit plates at bars though...

                            1,000 won/hour just about everywhere ($.85)

During my senior year in HS, a girl used to come sit by me for hours on end when I mucked with the school's computer.

Nothing came out of it though -- yeah, I was so utterly a geek then I didn't know what was going on.

Amazingly, yes, she was of Asian descent. Not that it's surprising or anything.
