Poll: Are traffic signals which are timed for 35 mph (or kph) also timed for 70?

So claimed a recent words of wisdom thing which popped up during the period after I made a post. It was short enough to read before it disappeared, and even to think about too, which lead me to this poll.

Special rule: Signals timed for 35mph which are 70 or 70000 miles apart (or other special case distances) should not figure in your answer (unless you can document their existence).

Yes, of course; where did you go to school?

I'm going to hazard a guess and say..."yes." I wonder if this thread will reach seventy miles an hour on its way there?

No it is not...But it would work the other way around.

If you drove 70MPH though 35MPH timed lights, you would end up waiting at every light for it to change.

But if you drove 35MPH and the lights were timed to 70MPH, then the lights would change twice before you got up to them and you can maintain 35MPH speed though them all.

If you drive 140 mph you shoud beat all the lights except the blue ones...

Not necessarily Wittlich. If use the presumption that the traffic lights are far enough from each other, so that the light would shift twice if you'd go 35MPH, then, for 70MPH, it would be enough.

True Azazel, I was using the assumption that all the lights are an equal distance apart.

They can be at an equel distance apart and still meet Azazels assumption
Just imagine a Car with 35 mpH needs for all Trafficlights 2 Periods of change

                And, to finetune Azazels Assumption:
If an even Number of Lightshifts pass, before a car with 35 mPH gets from one Trafficlight to the other (and has Green on Arrival) a car which drives with 70 mpH will also get Green.
But, if the Trafficlights are an odd Number of Periods (of Lightshifts) apart (for a car which drives with 35 mpH) a car driving with 70 mpH would get there while the light is red and would therefore have to wait.

So if you know that the (for 35 mpH timed) Trafficlights are 2,4,6... Periods apart if you drive with 35 mpH, you can also drive at 70 mpH without needing to stop.
But if they are 1,3,5... Periods apart then bad luck guy
