That depends - many times skin color is an indication of certain cultural beliefs/ideas/etc., that you, or at least ME, may not want to put up with. That is, it's not the skin color I have a problem with, it's the culture/ingrained attitudes of many people with that skin color I dislike.
Well, in general, if you're living in a country like the States then skin colour is not an indication of cultural beliefs/ideas/etc.
I look Chinese/Native Indian/Asian, but my culture is fully Canadian.
In general, the best rule is always: Don't judge a book by its cover.

But, here's another question: Lets say you marry someone from a different "racial" background. Your kids are not going to look like you in terms of skin colour. Are you ready to handle something like, if you're white, you're kids will look Chinese or black? Think about it before you answer.
I have asked myself that question before, and before I asked it, I had already answered it to myself... I think it's time for my family to get some "new blood"...
Another thing Floyd, think about the white people you know who grew up with you. Do they all have the same political beliefs? Do they all have the same religious beliefs? Are their outlooks on the world the same as yours?
The answer would obviously be no.
So isn't it possible that you could meet a black French woman who shares similar beliefs that you have?
Considering Floyd's beliefs, I would say extremely unlikely.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Same religious beliefs? Sure. Same political beliefs? Well, considering me, unlikely, but I see your point.
Someone who has the same cultural assumptions, same attitudes, same outlook? I kinda doubt it.
Here's an example. IN GENERAL, people from Asian countries (as distinguished from Americanized Asians) tend to be extremely strict and well disciplined in terms of education - it's the most important thing to them, and in my experience, many Asian parents drive their kids so hard it's almost cruel. I wouldn't say this is wrong, this is just an aspect of culture that I couldn't live with. Hence, I probably wouldn't date a non-Americanized Asian. Doesn't mean I hate Asians. Doesn't mean I think Asians are ugly.

A lot of parents in Hong Kong that I have met reject the concept of pushing kids to pass exams when the kids are only five-years-old (sounds weird, but it happens all the time). They want their kids to have a well-rounded education. Problem is they don't have a choice. They can't afford the alternatives.
Hmm. I wouldn't date a non-wseternised Asian, probably, because the culture is way too different...
As for people who have about the same Western culture as Europeans/Americans... I value the girl's moral values above else, but of course, it's good if she is attractive physically... and I haven't yet found a single black women attractie physically.
I am in no way rascist, though.

In my experience, second generation Asians (South Asians in particular) are middle-class whites as far as cultural values go.

So far as my rather limited experience goes, I've never dated someone of my own race. Not intentionally, it's just the way it worked out.
I'm surprised that people would need someone to share all their cultural beliefs, attitudes, and outlook to consider dating them. Maybe they should get themselves cloned, the perfect partner!
