I used to go to high school with what I guess you could call a "mini prodgy" - that is, he was something like two or three years younger than everyone else. Of course he studied all day long, every day.

What was funny about it was that I got higher history grades than he did, without trying/studying, and I rubbed it in his face every time we got a graded assignment back, because he did the same thing to other people in math classes. Pissed him right off, I think he was ready to kill me

First day of school (finally!!!) is great so far

I got Western Civ as a freshmen errr.... first year. I'm the only one in my entire class. Also placed into Honors Calc, I'm also signed up for intro to astrophysics (rocks for jocks?) and Philosophical Perspectives. Looks like I'm going to have an intimate relationship with the Greeks this quarter.

Just checking fantasy baseball then I'm off to lunch! The price of books is murder.

I always feel bad for prodigies... or any kid whose parents "force" the kid to do something... The parents always say "No, they want to do this, I am not forcing them" to which I reply "Of course they want to! They are good kids and all the want is to make you happy/proud! Thus, they want to because you want them to! I am sure they would rather you be proud of them for scoring a goal or making it to the top of the jungle gym without using their hands, but noooooooooo, you have to resent them for being a child because you never were one yourself you freakin' parent!!!"

Anyway, good luck Soul Survivor, have a good quarter/semester, whatever... Honors Calc? I took it, not worth it...

Most people envy those geniuses but at the same time say they don't like that kind of lives. Duh.

Worst thing I ever did was speak Japanese to some Koreans...thought they were going to gouge my eyes out.

It's not that bad in Japan. I thought that talking about Korea here would lead to confrontation, but they really don't seem to care.

hey! I was going to use that avatar.

Well what can I say. I'm a procrastinator. I probably wouldn't have gotten around to changing it anyways.

Ooof, Pierce..my condolences..unless you are an athlete, and then, well, nice gym access. Has Ratner opened up yet?

As for the Cubbies..remember, you are in Sox territory....

As for people studying..don;t let them distract you from a good spell of procrastination..remember, most papers are due 6th week and finals week..no need to start them until 5th week, and 24 hours before they are due finals week.

                                s for calc..well, your funeral.
