It's the only real solution. One state, Israel-Palestine, with it's capital in Jerusalem.
I agree (great minds think alike ). If they can't share the land, they'll always fight for it. The only solution (it might take time though) is to combine it into one sstate where Arabs and Jews can share the land and learn to put the past behind them and live together in relative peace and harmony.

It isn't fair that the Israelites come onto the Arabs' land, claim it theirs, and then take some more through aggression and killing Palestinian children. And Palestinians strapping bombs to themselves to kill innocent Israelies isn't helping things.
"The first man who, having fenced off a plot of land, thought of saying, 'This is mine' and found people simple enough to believe him was the real founder of civil society. How many crimes, wars, murders, how many miseries and horrors might the human race had been spared by the one who, upon pulling up the stakes or filling in the ditch, had shouted to his fellow men: 'Beware of listening to this imposter; you are lost if you forget the fruits of the earth belong to all and that the earth belongs to no one." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Already, 28% of Palestinians support a one-state solution, and that's without a single political party on either side advocating for it.

nail the bastards one by one. Dig them up and root them up and waste them where they stand. Then ask why were they pissed enough to do it.

... Now is the time to ask and act...

Well, what claim do the Arabs have to it? The Israelites believe they were promised it by Abraham, and the Arabs believe that Muhammed rose to Allah in Jerusalem.

There are only two solutions: Palestine is set up as a self-governing state under Israeli control, or Palestine is assimilated into the larger Arab states (Jordan & Egypt).

You can't merge the two together. Look at the former Yugoslavia. All you need is some crackpot extremist to come to power (e.g. a Hamas leader), and you'll get ethnic cleansing at it's worst.

Nail the ****ers who bomb soft targets. Nail 'em all. Stuff the past, this is the real world. The Arabs should accept what they've got, stop bombing Israel, and Israel will stop attacking Arabs. Look what happened when cease fire was declared. The UN is an international circus with no purpose but to entertain us with their indecisiveness.

I have been saying as much as the Israeli FM for years. I am glad Israel is now honest about its situation and about Arafat. He has to go, and the nations of the world have to understand that Arafat is the enemy of his own people.

I also find it literally sickening that leftists here continue to bash Israel. It is unseemly, IMO.

After listening to the Democrat debate last night, I fear for America's future and for Israel's. If any of those people become president, the security of the United States and the security of Israel will be severely undermined. Not a single one of those candidates seemed to believe that the fall of Saddam Hussein was in America's interests. Amazing thinking, that!

Che, I believe you are making a false equivalency between two things that are not equal. You say it's both sides fault, and to some extent it is, but this is not a case where each side is 50% to blame. It's clear that the vast majority of the blame rests with the Palestinians who have always rejected peaceful coexistence with Israel and whom purposely attack children instead of military targets.

The Israelis try very hard to minimize civilian causalities but there is a limit to what they can do without subjecting their own men to excessive risk.

You are wasting your breath arguing with Che or any other leftist on this topic. They know the facts just as well as you or I. They just favor the other side to win. They are not in favor of democracy or capitalism.

BTW, Che, after reading the SDS manifesto, I came to the conclusion that you, and a lot of other commies today, are realy SDS'ers.

                    Agree?

Che is opinionated but he's normally a pretty reasonable guy.

I find most of the lefties really, deeply do care about democracy and fairness; this is what drives them towards socialism or communism. Sure, being human they are capable of all the same bias as the next man but I think many of them aren't so deadset in their positions that they won't listen to the other side.

I try to stay open minded enough to at least hear what the other people are saying and I hope they'll do the same for me. If they don't they can put me on ignore and it's all the same to me.

No apologies for ignoring 242 and - erm - is it 365?

                              Why am I not surprised?

If he was honest, he'd just say "actually my country doesn't give a flying fvck what you lot think, we'll just do our own thing. If you don't like it, go fvck yourself."

So at no point in this do you find fault with an entire people living, disenfranchised, in a virtual prison camp set up by an imperialist power hellbent on driving them off what little land they've left?

The heart of the problem is and will always remain Israel's imperialist exapansion. The terrorism is a regrettable symptom but lies very far from the cause.
